Wed. July 24 6:30-8pm - Special Events Seminar

When you create a gala, road race, walk-a-thon or any other charity function you and your committee should first ask these three fundamental questions:

  1. What is our net fundraising goal?
  2. How do we ensure our expense ratio is low?
  3. How difficult will it be for us to raise this money?

 

From there come all the other questions and their answers, from the sublime to the truly ridiculous.

Susan Madon and Rachel Bourke have been responsible for literally hundreds of fundraising events ranging from walk-a-thons to golf outings to US million dollar galas to scavenger hunts and many, many more – learning the key qualities to higher return, lower stress events.

 

Susan is the Interim President of the AFP-Hong Kong Chapter and President of Minerva Non-Profit Management Consulting.  Her special events experience includes: (New York City) The Alfred E. Smith Foundation which raises USD $5Million in 1 dinner, The Inner City Scholarship Fund, Catholic Charities, The French Institute-Alliance Franςaise, and the American Heart Association.

 

A native of Hong Kong, Rachel is well known for her special event management expertise working with such fine charitable organizations as Mother’s Choice, the Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation, The American Women’s Association, Changing Young Lives, and a host of others both in Hong Kong and in the US.  Rachel is especially strong at pulling together volunteer committees

 

This will be a very practical session.  So don’t be afraid.  Bring your questions.  Susan and Rachel will answer them to the very best of their collective abilities.  Anything they have come across they will help you find the answers!
